Osteopathic Manual Practice
Osteopathic Manual Practice is a manual form of treatment which deals with the whole body and all of its systems. By using visual assessment, mobilization of the joints, and soft tissue palpation and manipulation, the patient can be relieved of chronic and acute issues in this body's structure. It is suitable for the injured and the long-afflicted, the athlete and the elderly. Through the treatment process, the practitioner is able to tease out what the underlying causative issues are and treat them accordingly to create collective change through the whole body. This can include positive changes affecting the health and functioning of the organs, the spine and its relations, fluid movement, and more.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the art of utilizing grappling to disarm and subdue an opponent or attacker. It can be safely taught in this format of private or semi-private instruction. There is a strong emphasis on learning safe and effective body mechanics for movement, as well as technical drills to ensure skills are deeply engrained in the practitioner. There is a degree of live sparring introduced gradually which is suited to the practitioner's level of experience. This type of graded resistance training will instill a true sense of confidence that one is able to defend oneself if needed.
Craniosacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system, which has been shown to improve the functioning of the central nervous system, as well as many other systems of the body, such as digestive, musculoskeletal, respiratory, circulatory, and more. CST has also been shown to help with the physical components related to such somatic conditions as Post Traumatic Stress, depression and anxiety.
